Montepaschi Takes On Top Placed Barelona

Montepaschi Siena hosted top of the D group table FC Barcelona on Thursday December 15 at PalaEstra.  In front of almost 5,000 fans, Montepaschi did not disappoint.  Montepaschi held a one point lead at half time only to be down by 12 at the end of the third quarter.  Scoring double  the points that FC Barcelona did in the last quarter (30-15), Montepaschi Siena won the match 77-74.  Dave played 30:16 minutes, scoring six points and grabbing 12 rebounds (3 offensive and 9 defensive).  Igor Rakocevic top score for Siena with 21 points with Pietro Aradori close behind him on 20 points.  Montepaschi  have a six day break before heading to Poland to play Asseco Prokom in the last regular game of Euroleague for the season.

Overtime Win In Avellino

Montepaschi Siena rounded out their road trip with a big win against Sidigas Avellino on Sunday December 11.  In a tight game that saw the scores level at the end of the third and fourth quarters, Montepaschi hit the boards running in OT to take the game 83-77.  Dave played 36 minutes, scoring 13 points, one offensive and six defensive rebounds and three assists in game 10 of the A Series.  Igor Rakocevic top scored for Siena with an impressive 26 points.  Montepaschi is number one in the A Series ranking and after a 2 week break from Lega Basket for Christmas, will host NoviPiu Casale Monferrato on Tuesday December 27.

Dave on Fire Against Bennet Cantu

Montepaschi Siena hosted Bennet Cantu in the ninth game of the A Series Champioship on Sunday December 4.  Dave played 31 minutes in the game top scoring with 31 points (an impressive 12-12 from the free point line) and grabbing one offensive and three defensive rebounds.  Montepaschi won the game 73-64, putting them two points clear at the top of the Lega Basket table.  Dave and Pietro  Aradori both shared the top rebounding honours with 4 rebounds each.  Montepaschi’s next A Series game is against ninth placed Sidigas Avellino on Sunday December 11.

Montepaschi Defeat Galatasaray

Montepaschi Siena travelled to Istanbul to play Galatasaray Medical Park on Thursday December 8 in game eight of the Euroleague.  After leading Galatasaray by one point at the end of the first quarter Montepaschi Siena went into the major break down by one point, 32-33.  The second half saw Montepaschi break away and win the game 67-63.  Dave played 30:25 minutes top scoring with 18 points, two offensive and six defensive rebounds (8 in total) and one assist.  Montepaschi stay on the road and go to Avellino to play Sidigas Avellino on Sunday December 11.  Montepaschi  now sit one game clear in second place above Unics Kazan in Group D of the Euroleague.  Thursday December 15 sees top placed and David’s old team, FC Barcelona, travel to Siena to play Montepaschi at PalaEstra in what promises to be a huge game.

Montepaschi Wins in Slovenia

Montepaschi Siena played Union Olimpija  at the Stozice Arena on Thursday December 1.  In front of a 6000 strong crowd, Montepaschi held the lead at every change to come away with a 63-57 win.  Dave played 26:13 minutes, scoring 10 points, grabbing two offensive and six defensive rebounds and one steal.  Bo McCalebb top scored for Montepaschi with 16 points and Dave grabbed the most boards with a total of 8.  Montepaschi  will now host Bennet Cantu on Sunday December 4 in game 9 of the A Series Championship before hitting the road to play Galatasaray on Thursday December 8 and then Sidigas Avellino on Sunday December 11.  Montepaschi Siena still sits at second spot in the Euroleague Group D  standings, having qualified to the top 16 alongside FC Barcelona Regal and Unics Kazan also from Group D.
