Montepaschi Top of A Series Ranking

Montepaschi Siena played Angelico Biella on Sunday October 30 in Biella, coming away with a three point win and the top ranking in the A Series Championship.  Montepaschi led at the end of the first quarter and held a seven point lead going into the major break but Angelico Biella came back in the third to tie the score 52 all at the end of the third quarter.  Montepaschi  outscored Biella in the final quarter to win 70-67.  Dave played 20 minutes, scored seven points and grabbed seven defensive rebounds, leading Montepaschi’s rebounders.  Lester Bo  Mc Calebb top scored for Montepaschi with 19 points.  Montepaschi Siena will now host Galatasaray at PalaEstra on Wednesday November 2 in the third game of the Euroleague season.

 
Montepaschi Siena Wins 2nd Euroleague Game

Montepaschi Siena won their second game of the Euroleague season at PalaEstra on Thursday October 27.  Montepaschi Siena led Union Olimpija at every break in the 79-57 win.  Montepaschi kept Olimpija to just four points in the opening quarter while scoring 26 points themselves.  Dave scored eight points and had one steal in 19:26 minutes.  Montepaschi travel to Biella to play Angelico Biella on Sunday October 30 in the third game of the A Series Championship before hosting Galatasaray at PalaEstra on Wednesday November 2.

 
Dave Reaches 400 (and then some)

In the opening game of the 2011/12 Euroleague season against Unics Kazan, Dave made his 400th career free throw.  Going into the game, Dave had to hit at least four free throws to reach the 400 mark, he hit six of seven free throws making his career total of free throws made 402.

 
Montepaschi 4 Point Loss to Pepsi Caserta

Montepaschi Siena suffered their first loss of the season against Pepsi Caserta at PalaEstra on Sunday October 23 in the A Series Championship.  With scores even at the end of the first quarter (18-18), Montepaschi came out and scored 17 points to Pepsi’s 10 to lead 35-28 at half time.  The second half was a different story, with Montepaschi Siena only scoring eight  points in the third quarter to go into the final quarter down by seven points (43-50).  After a strong final quarter, Montepaschi fell five points short of a win with the final score line being; Montepaschi Siena 65 Pepsi Caserta 69.  Dave played 24 minutes and scored 11 points, grabbed one offensive and three defensive rebounds and had one assist.  Montepaschi Siena host Union Olimpija in game two of the Euroleague on Thursday October 27 before their next A Series game against Angelico Biella on Sunday October 30.

 
Motepaschi Wins Opening Euroleague Game

Montepaschi Siena beat Unics Kazan on Wednesday October 19 in their first game of the 2011/12 Euroleague season.  Playing in Group D, Montepaschi trailed Unics Kazan by one point at the end of the first half.  Montepaschi then came out in the third quarter to outscore the home team 21 points to 11.  Final score line was Montepaschi Siena 79 to Unics Kazan 71.  Dave played 21:59 minutes to score 13 points and grab five rebounds.  Montepaschi’s next game is a home game, playing Pepsi Caserta in the A Series Championship on Sunday October 23, they then host Union Olimpija on Thursday October 27 in game two of the Euroleague.  Watch highlights of the game on the Mens Sana Basket webiste (courtesy of Euroleague.net) by following this link http://www.menssanabasket.it/index.aspx?vid=100
